The Down from the Hills Bluegrass Festival and State Bluegrass Championships continues a 14-year tradition of celebrating the music and culture of the Mississippi and Lower Appalachia. This 2-day festival begins on Friday night with a Farm to Table Dinner featuring local foods and a free outdoor concert by Sean Watkins of Nickle Creek.
On Saturday, May 23rd the festival continues with the Mississippi Bluegrass Championships featuring musicians from around the region competing for over $8,000 in cash prizes. Competition categories include Dobro, Banjo, Guitar, Fiddle and more...
In addition to bluegrass competition, Saturday will open the New Albany Arts & Farmers markets with produce and regional arts and will wind down with evening concerts by the Cakewalkers, the Eisenhaur Band and special guests.

The festival begins with a Farm to Table “family-style” dinner served on a foot bridge traversing the fabled Tallahatchie River. Chef John Stokes will be preparing a menu from ingredients grown and raised on local farms.
This will be a limited seating event and only 100 tickets will be sold. Tickets are $50 each and can be puchased by calling 662-534-1047.
